Ball joints for your classic car
A ball joint connects the control arm to the steering knuckle (hub carrier) and allows your wheels to turn and travel smoothly over the road. On classic cars, ball joints wear over decades of use — and finding the right part is not always as simple as entering a registration number in an online catalogue.
Signs that your ball joints need replacing:
• Knocking or clunking from the front wheels, even on straight roads
• Play or unusual behaviour in the steering wheel
• Uneven tyre wear
• MOT / APK failure on 'excessive play in ball joint'
At Tomaxclassics, we supply ball joints for the most common classic and American car makes:
• Ball joints Ford — for classic Fords including the Mustang, Thunderbird, Falcon and F-100
• Ball joints Mercury — for Mercury Cougar, Monterey, Montego and other classics
More makes to follow. Do you drive a different classic make? Contact us at +31 6-18298736 or send an email — we are happy to help you find the right part.
Always replace ball joints per axle (left and right at the same time). A 4-wheel alignment is required after fitting. On a restored classic, this is especially important.
