Products for winter
Antifreeze
Antifreeze protects your engine coolant from freezing and your cooling system from corrosion. Classic engines — especially those with aluminium components — are sensitive to the wrong coolant type. Always check compatibility with your engine before topping up. KROON Antifreeze is available in 1 L and 5 L, suitable for a wide range of engines.
• Check antifreeze concentration every autumn — protection should reach at least –20 °C
• Always use a coolant type compatible with your engine material (aluminium or cast iron)
• Flush the system if the coolant is more than two years old
Antifreeze tester
A Hella antifreeze tester lets you check coolant protection in seconds — no guesswork, no mixing errors. Essential for classics that have not been serviced recently or where the coolant history is unknown.
De-icer spray
Frozen windscreens and door seals are a common winter frustration. MOTIP and KROON de-icer sprays clear ice quickly and are safe for rubber seals and paintwork — important on classic bodywork where seals may already be aged. The MOTIP slot de-icer (75 mL) is specifically designed for frozen door and boot locks, common on older vehicles with mechanical lock cylinders.

Screen wash — winter formula
Standard screen wash freezes in cold weather, blocking your washers at the worst possible moment. BO winter screen wash (ready to use, 5 L) provides frost protection down to –15 °C and keeps your washer system running in cold conditions.
Marten repellent — protect your wiring
Martens (stone martens) are a serious threat to parked and stored vehicles. They chew through rubber hoses, wiring insulation and coolant pipes — causing damage that is expensive and time-consuming to trace. Classics stored in garages, barns or carports are especially at risk. We offer two solutions:
• Marten repellent device: ultrasonic or electronic deterrent, placed under the bonnet
• MOTIP Cable Protect spray: coats wiring and hoses with a bitter-tasting layer that martens avoid
For maximum protection, combine both — the repellent device keeps them away from the engine bay, the spray protects individual cables if they do get in.
Lighting — Osram H4 for classics
The H4 bulb is the most common headlight fitting on classic cars from the 1970s through the 1990s. The Osram H4 12V 60/55W OFF ROAD SUPER BRIGHT provides significantly more light output than a standard H4 — ideal for unlit country roads and winter night driving. Note: OFF ROAD specification, for use outside public roads. Check your local regulations before fitting.
